Agnes draws from Italian maiolica of the 15th and 16th centuries, a tin-glazed ceramic tradition known for richly colored tiles and architectural decoration. Its geometric pattern and marine blue reinterpret the intricate tilework and cobalt pigments of the period in a quieter, contemporary form.
